The pause

My sincerest apologies for being MIA these past few weeks. I will get into the reasoning a bit in this post, or I guess I can just get the surprise out the way. Today’s post will be a special piece written by my mother. My mom was always the writer in the family. She still is. She inspires me in so many ways, and her writing has always been at the top of that list. Her style is pretty different from mine but a hundred times more beautiful. I have been sitting back these past few weeks in my pause and taking care of my mental health, but please always know that you all are always on the forefront of my mind. I care deeply about delivering meaningful messages to you all, and I know my mother is the perfect person during my time away. I do plan on returning very soon, but without further ado, Ms. Ketty Gonzalez-Evora.

The pause

Reflection is necessary

How do we know ourselves

If we are being run by time

We are run by our schedules

By our commitments

If we only knew that everything

We view as priority is temporary

Would we choose the same

Freedom is a tricky thing

It consist of time

It is our most prized possession

And our biggest cage

To live is to lose track of time

Isn’t then that we feel liberty

In the mist of our passions

Don’t we feel most alive

Its reflection on what is

An evaluation to see beyond

A journey begins with a destination

During the travel one takes a pause

The pause is needed to analyze

Collecting information on what’s begun

What is transpiring and yet to come

The value of the experience

The possibility of spontaneity

A spark of excitement along the way

All in an effort to make it worth the ride

In life we get a glimpse of these moments

They come upon us and we get to decide

Do we take the pause or not

Yet most choose to continue

Even if the outcome is a disappointment

See the pause is what is priceless

It is in this time out we see ourselves

Getting honest with who and what we are

Who we have become, and yet to become

Who we have in our corner,

and who we don’t

And who we have yet to connect with

What dreams we are being led to

Or driven far away from

It is a homing call to our soul

It is how we live on purpose

Time is of the essence.

God bless you all and have a wonderful week:)
